About the event
Session description
Increasing use of consumer technologies to collect and communicate patient generated health data (PGHD) offers the opportunity to improve surgical site infection (SSI) surveillance and care coordination. Further, it may provide new insight into how SSI is understood and defined. Despite this, evidence on how to incorporate PGHD into clinical care and quality improvement work is limited. During this session, we will present the current state of the art of post-operative post-discharge SSI surveillance, ascertained through our CDC-sponsored Health Technology Assessment (ASSIST).
